PARSA branches out into Balkh and the restaurant biz! (Not really)

During a trip up to Mazaar-i-Sharif this weekend, Norm, Jim and I headed out to the town of Balkh and stumbled across a local restaurant, pictured at left that shares PARSA's name. We ended up having lunch there, the food was great, and I even got to play a game of Carrom board with the some of the other patrons (I lost pretty soundly, though, those guys were good!) Everybody was really friendly, and the owner of the restaurant posed for the picture as we were leaving. It was a great trip in general and the Parsa restaurant was definitely one of the highlights.

I love food in Mazar, especially kabab and Qabeli Palaw (rice with carrot). The restaurant looks pretty bad in shape, but I believe the food was good.
